An Instant 3D Scene

All Spatial Cognition products are based on our core technology that allows large amounts of geospatial data, from different sources, to be efficiently traversed for a variety of goals, including visualization, analysis, and data correction.

The 3D scene is defined by a Spatial Data Collection, or SDC for short. Instead of adding objects or data to the scene, the SDC points to data sources. The real-time Spatial Partitioning Engine automatically figures out how to download, read, and assemble these data sources together to create a seamless 3D scene.

This means you can use any type of imagery, elevation data, 3D models, or GIS vector data just by pointing to the source data, whether they be files, folders, network sources, databases, ftp sites, web links, or internet servers.

Hundreds of data formats are supported, with new formats added almost every month. Data sources are read natively and all well-known map projections are supported.

Because the scene is assembled in the real-time partitioning engine, when new data sources are inserted into the scene, they will appear in seconds (if not sooner). Elevation, imagery, and GIS data are instantly blended together into a terrain surfaces without cracks or holes.

All this is done without losing any resolution of the data. For example, if you are visualizing the scene, you can keep zooming in until you see the actual pixels of an image or gridposts of digital elevation models – regardless of the projection and even if the resolution is in micrometers.
